Great pics. I absolutely agree that breastfeeding is normal thing, and don't understand when people turn their eyes, when see breast feeding woman in a park.
Once my boyfriend asked me, why showing boobs in public is inappropriate, but breast feeding is ok.

I'm glad you didn't listen to the reviewers' suggestions about censoring your photos. That's the whole problem: many people want to censor all public breast feeders, no matter how "PC" they might look. We have to be unified and encourage all mothers to bf. The best way to do that is to show as many different types of women breast feeding in public. I hope your book continues to sell well!

Totally agree, there are lots of moms who are fat, who are lesbians, who have tattoos, who are Black, Asian, Latina and never see images that look like them. They deserve to be represented in campaigns, PSAs, books, ads, etc. just as much as anyone else.

This is so important...I included photos of all ethnic groups, babes of different ages breastfeeding in different locations in my new children's book, Mommy Feeds Baby...some of my reviewers suggested I take out the photos of moms with tatoos, or larger breasts, etc. and make the book more PC...my answer was it is perfect because it is real moms feeding real babies how they really do! I did not back down and in 5 months more than 2,500 copies have sold...I guess moms can relate to people that look just like them! If we all work together we can normalize breastfeeding...thanks for the post

Wow! I love this. I belong to a playgroup with my 8 month old (other moms/babes from La Leche League), so wherever we are, park, library, etc, there are always boobs out. I will always breastfeed my son if he wants to, but I know the safety-in-numbers helps other moms feel more empowered to nurse in public.

That's great! I participated in the NV Breastfeeds calendar that will be distributed by health care providers throughout the state and we were given a couple prints of our images for participating and framed mine :D
